Protecting Your PA Sound System

The show you’re mixing is fantastic, hands-down.  The kick drum and bass are grooving perfectly in their respective pockets, the guitar is piercing through with definition, and the clarity of the vocals are pristine.  The energy is overwhelming, the crowd is thumping, and because everything is sounding great, the band is rocking out as hard as they can.  The front man, dancing like a madman, moves right in front of the monitor and lets out his tri-county famous Rock ‘n Roll Wail.  Then it happens – a sharp blast of ear-bleedingly deafening feedback, followed by the muffled noise of stage volume.  Your mains have just been blown, and the show is ruined.
