The Electro-Voice® Sx600 loudspeaker delivers exactly what large venues need: substantially improved fidelity, especially in the vocal range, at high SPLs. To achieve this, Electro-Voice engineers created a dual element, critically spaced, low frequency line array to produce the SPL levels of a horn-loaded low/mid section. Then, they added the clear vocal reproduction of a critically dampened direct radiator system.
The PIX model includes an internal 600-watt line transformer for operation on 70-, 100-, 140-, or 200-volt distributed line systems. The constant voltage option provides great flexibility when designing long-line systems for large venues such as stadiums, fairgrounds, or race tracks.
The Sx600 loudspeaker employs several performance-proven EV® innovations, such as a neodymium-based mid-driver from EV X-Array™ concert systems, and an EV DL-Series woofer that augments response below 300 Hz, improving directivity. On the high-frequency end, an Electro-Voice DH2T compression driver, coupled to our unique Varipath™ constant directivity HF horn, produces both long throw and wide front-to-back audience coverage. And our Ring Mode Decoupling® (RMD®) technology is used throughout the Sx600 to ensure level-independent tonal response and a high level of intelligibility.
A totally new “center point” mounting system known as SuperSAM™ was designed for the Sx600. The mounting system attaches near both the horizontal and vertical centers of gravity on the speaker. SuperSAM tilts over a 60-degree range of vertical motion (with alignment holes in 5-degree increments) and pans across 180-degrees of horizontal motion for easy and precise aiming. SuperSAM was designed for a safety factor greater than construction industry standard 5:1 and, when properly installed, will withstand significant wind and ice loading.
The Sx600 features a molded polymer enclosure with multilayer stainless steel grille and combination stainless steel/aluminum mounting hardware for extreme weather performance. The unique grille design protects the transducers against rain, sprayed water, and dust according to IEC 529 IP 44, and meets Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, UV radiation, and extreme temperatures.- Features
