The SES 212 is a low frequency energy and stereo image enhancement system that creates new bass material one octave below the bass component of the source signal, as well as improving clarity and definition. The amount of added bass can be adjusted with a level control. A second bass filter circuit is provided to compliment the extended bass generator. This circuit adds additional bass frequencies (natural, not synthesized) an octave above the sub-harmonics to even out the low end balance without the loss of clarity experienced with some bass processors. The amount of these frequencies can also be controlled. A speaker size switch allows the filters to be tuned to optimize response for large or small speakers.
In addition to the bass process, a high frequency stereo width expansion system has been incorporated to give the source material improved separation and more definition. The amount of this action is dictated via a front panel control. All inputs and outputs are balanced. A back-panel switch is provided to configure the unit to receive mono input signals, yet output them in simulated stereo. Main input and output connections may be made via XLR or three-screw Euro connectors. The sub woofer output is three-screw Euro only.
