The DME Satellite models vastly expand the capabilities and capacity of a DME-based sound system or any other networked audio devices that use CobraNet or EtherSound protocol. In addition to providing controllable remote I/O, they include powerful DSP processing capability allowing distributed processing for unprecedented system design flexibility and power. Satellite I/O also reduces system cabling costs while maximizing overall reliability. The DME Satellite series can also be used as stand-alone processors in smaller systems. Networking has become essential for audio systems. The DME-C models provide direct compatibility with CobraNet networks primarily used in medium to large-scale installations, while the DME-ES models allow easy integration into EtherSound networks commonly used in temporary live sound systems. Yamaha pro audio equipment features virtually all serious sound systems in the world. The DME Satellite units offer the same level of overall quality with top-class head amplifiers, AD/DA converters, in order to deliver the best audio quality. However, the DME satellite series is not just a device for distributing inputs and outputs. The DME Satellite series uses the same Yamaha DSP Chip that is behind our most advanced digital mixing consoles, giving each DME Satellite unit approximately 80% of the processing power provided by the DME24N. An extensive range of components such as EQ, delays, matrix mixers and speaker processors can be combined to create complete processing systems for any application via the DME Designer software. The DME Satellite series features RS232C/RS422 connectors for remote control from touch panel controllers such as AMX™ and Crestron™ and 8-in/4-out GPI interface for the connection of control switches and indicators and Ethernet and USB ports.
