Mark is a Sales Engineer in our Sales Department and has been involved in the audio industry for much of his life. Mark has been a DJ since he was 17 years old, and has worked in many bars and clubs all across the country. Naturally, his favorite type of sound system to build is DJ packages. He enjoys spending his free time with his kids, and is even teaching them to DJ too!

Q: In 5 songs, what is the soundtrack of your life?

A:

1. Midnight Express - DJ Deiselboy

2. Tourniquet - Marilyn Manson

3. Hurt - Nine Inch Nails

4. Adagio for Strings - Tiesto

5. Such Great Heights - The Postal Service

Q: What is your audio background?

A: I've been a DJ since I was 17. Started with the electronic music scene in Springfield, MO. Since then I have worked in many bars and clubs across the country, usually near the base that I was stationed at. More recently, I have been working in the recording studio for bands like Kick Action Collective in Austin, Texas. I have also done a few live sound gigs for everything from sludge metal to choirs.

Q: How long have you been involved in the audio industry?

A: 18 years

Q: What is your favorite audio gear?

A: My Pioneer CDJs and DJM mixer

Q: What is your favorite type of system to build?

A: I love building DJ packages, but I especially like to build a sound system for the front of house engineers in houses of worship. School stadiums and auditoriums are fun too because the first time I did anything with sound was at my high school during a basketball game. I remember how much fun I had being in charge of all the audio during the games.

Q: Do you have any hobbies? What are they?

A: When I am not cataloging my music for a gig, I like to make electronic music and build my own synths, pedals, and instruments. I also enjoy teaching my kids how to play the piano, DJ, and fish.

Q: If you could have a superpower what would it be?

A: I would want to have the healing factor of Logan, the Wolverine. The idea of growing back from a single piece of myself and having a ridiculously long life is tempting.
