The 40-119 utility microphone base is designed to accept the popular 800 or 900 series ASTATIC mini-gooseneck microphones as well as any other miniature gooseneck microphone with a three pin professional audio connector.
The 40-119 features a specially compounded energy absorbing "shock mount" pad to decouple the base from sources of unwanted mechanical resonance, i.e. podiums, lecterns, tables, etc. This unit features a dependable momentary push switch that provides a dry contact between pins 4 and 5 of the cable terminating XLR connector. The switch can be configured for either "push-to-open" or "push-to-close" using the slide switch located on the underside of the base. The 40-119 base is used to control an independent device while audio signal from the mic is always on.
The 40-119 is supplied with a rugged four conductor, two shielded twenty foot cable terminated with a professional five pin male XLR type connector for balanced audio. The base is constructed of die cast zinc with a steel base plate.
