A Customer Story: Enhancing School Sports Sound Systems at Cumby ISD
Background
Cumby Independent School District, a small yet committed school district, recently upgraded its sound systems across multiple athletic facilities, including the gymnasium, football stadium, and baseball and softball fields. Jeremy Bain, who works with the district’s technology, recognized that the existing audio equipment was severely outdated and unreliable. Referring to the previous setup, he noted that they were still using boomboxes on the fields.
With a solid background in IT, Jeremy began researching online for a more streamlined solution. He was looking for a complete school sports sound system that came with everything needed for a full upgrade- one that delivered powerful, clear sound and was easy for staff to operate. Rather than piecing together various components on his own, he wanted a packaged solution that offered simplicity and reliability.
Working with Pro Acoustics
During his search, Jeremy discovered pre-configured audio systems from Pro Acoustics. He was immediately drawn to the convenience and completeness of the offerings. The systems included everything necessary to replace the outdated equipment without the hassle of sourcing individual components. Jeremy worked closely with Sales Engineer Nathan Turner throughout the process. He described Nathan as knowledgeable, approachable, and easy to communicate with. The personalized service made a strong impression and gave Jeremy confidence in the investment.
Each sound system was tailored to its specific location. For the gymnasium sound system, Cumby ISD upgraded to new Yamaha gym speakers paired with a power amplifier, a rack mount mixer with Bluetooth, and an Audio-Technica wireless handheld microphone with a desktop mic stand. The district’s football stadium sound system featured Community outdoor stadium speakers supported by a Yamaha powered mixer, along with another Audio-Technica wireless handheld microphone and desktop mic stand—ideal for announcements and live events.
For the baseball and softball field sound systems, the district installed Yorkville weather-resistant speakers, a Bluetooth mixer amplifier, and a wired handheld microphone with a desktop mic stand. These comprehensive upgrades replaced the previous makeshift solutions and significantly improved performance and usability.
Reflection
Since installing the new systems, Cumby ISD has experienced noticeable improvements. Jeremy reported that the sound is now clear and loud, and the equipment is simple enough for novice users to operate with ease. The upgraded school sports sound system has brought reliable, high-quality audio to every athletic venue on campus.
He also praised the outstanding customer service, noting that it was a pleasure working with Nathan and the Pro Acoustics team. Today, Cumby ISD continues to enjoy a more engaging and professional audio experience across its facilities.
