How to Light Your Event with Chauvet DJ Lighting Systems on Pro Acoustics Tech Talk Episode 31
In this week's episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk, Nathan and Coltin discuss some of their favorite lighting systems from Chauvet DJ. If you're looking for the best lighting systems for your gig, event, or party, we've got you covered!
Nathan: Hey everybody, welcome to another Pro Acoustics Tech Talk. I'm Nathan.
Coltin: And I'm Coltin.
Nathan: And we are here today to talk to you about speakers. I mean lights. Here at Pro Acoustics, we do also carry, lights, lighting fixtures, DJ effect lights. Also more architectural uplighting. And today we're gonna talk to you a little bit about it.
Coltin: Alright Nathan, so we are talking about lights today. More specifically Chauvet, correct?
Nathan: Yeah, these are both products from Chauvet DJ.
Coltin: Who else do we carry?
Nathan: We also carry Blizzard Lights, also American DJ, some of their lighting gear as well, as well as Martin lighting. We have a handful of different manufacturers available.
Nathan: We're here bringing you out a couple of our favorite products to talk about. See what you guys think about them. This is the Chauvet DJ Gig Bar 2. What all does it come with? It comes with a stand, comes with everything you see here, built-in strobe into the T-bar itself. Comes with a laser, two effect lights, and then also a couple of LED wash fixtures.
Nathan: You can also mix and match some of these. If you get the system, decide you want to add just wash lights or just effect lights, you can leave some off. You can make some modifications and you've got quick connects on the output here to swap those out.
Nathan: Gig Bar 2 also comes with a handy dandy remote from Chauvet DJ. Make sure and keep your manual around if you're planning on using the remote. And then also, an easy to use wireless foot switch to where you can be sitting there at your gig or at your event or your backyard party, anything like that. Price point on these is not a problem as far as if you want it for your own personal use.
Nathan: Set it up, and from there on the footswitch, you have an auto mode, music mode, color mode, and blackout. Color mode you can set just to a particular color look. There also is DMX available control. If you are hip to using DMX, you can address the fixtures as you need or if you just want to throw down and have a good time. Throw on that auto mode, let her dance and have a good time. And then I guess it has music mode too. So if you have music going at the party, I guess that's going to the music. Again, basically hits the downbeat or that kind of thing. For more on this guy here, we do have a video of our portable event system package with a Bose S1 and a wireless microphone, a great all in one package. If you need just something for a small church, youth group, boy scout troop or parties at the house or whatever you might be interested in
Coltin: Absolutely. All right, well, good deal. Well, we have a lot more coming your way as far as lighting and getting into the different system types as well. And you'll see a lot more packages coming your way, so keep an eye out for that.
Nathan: Along those lines, we do have the Chauvet DJ COLORband PiX IP. This is an all weather-rated LED fixture, primarily used for architectural lighting. You know, you can do uplight on a building, uplight on walls, light your fence. You can actually mount it up high and light it on the wall of a restaurant and use it in combination with these types of fixtures through DMX or whatever other options you might envision.
Nathan: The world's your oyster when it comes to lighting. If we can help you with designing things, we're more than happy to do that as well. With these types of LEDs, you actually have multiple different cells that can do different colors, for color mixing. Also chases, built-in programs to where with some of this hardware here, you can have a pretty rocking party, a pretty good time, as well as with the basic DMX controller.
Nathan: A little bit of explanation on DMX, we'd be able to get you something a little bit more stable, a little bit more permanent for whatever kind of look you're after for your commercial application.
