Introducing TwinPlex Premium Microphones from Shure on Pro Acoustics Tech Talk Episode 32

On today's episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk, Nathan brings in Felix from Highway Marketing to discuss the new TwinPlex premium mics from Shure. Find out what sets the TwinPlex microphones apart from the rest in this installment of Tech Talk.

Nathan: Hey everybody, Nathan from Pro Acoustics, here again, to talk to you guys about some new products from Shure, and what they're up to.
Nathan: We're back at our Salado, Texas warehouse with Felix from Highway Marketing. Good to see you again. Tell me what Shure has going on.
Felix: We have the new TwinPlex microphones. We have two versions, the headset, the TH53 and one of the lavs, TL47. I don't know what your experiences with wearable microphones, but sweat outs are going to be an issue. And then the cables breaking is going to be an issue.
Nathan: Right, always.
Felix: They solved it by one, creating a cable that's basically a surgical cable. It's responding to a hundred times more than any other cable in the market in terms of breakability. Just on a machine, just bending, trying to break it, especially at the connector. And then how do you counteract sweat outs is going to be on the capsule. So there is a hydrophobic capsule. Shure created an artificial sweat machine, a little needle just dropping synthetic sweat, and it just rolls up.
Nathan: Awesome.
Felix: Yeah, it's pretty great. And then all of that, oh, that is great. However, how does it sound? There's actually two capsules in here, a tiny capsule and that allows you to pick up all facets. So there's no proximity. The closer you are, it's louder of course, but there are some going to be a low end. And then if you experience anything, especially with the lavalier when it's sitting on somebody's chest and a presenter turns to the side, you tend to lose clarity. None of that happens because it is picking up all facets.
Nathan: Nice. Awesome, awesome. And then we have a black lapel model here. We also have a tan headset. There's some different color options.
Felix: There is a cocoa and there is a white on all of them.
Nathan: Okay, gotcha. And here we have the standard Shure connectors. Do they also come in other connection models?
Felix: Absolutely.
Nathan: Great, great. And then different configurations, I guess for speech versus music?
Felix: There's speech, there's music and then there's capsules that you can change. For example, this one right now, we do have the flat cap on it. There's also a presence.
Nathan: Gotcha.
Felix: Which is more of a high pass.
Nathan: Okay. Very good. Very good. All these models are shipping now?
Felix: Absolutely.
