This Atlas Classroom Sound System is the perfect solution for K-12 and higher education facilities. This complete audio package consists of one Pure Resonance SD4 Ceiling Speaker Array, one Atlas Sound AA50PHD 50 Watt Mixer Amplifier, and one Atlas Sound WPD-RISRL Volume Control Switch.
The SD Speaker employs (4 smaller 6.5”) very fast transient response aluminum-woofer drivers that are very powerful and stable. Working in unison these drivers produce clean powerful dynamic sound. When designing the SD the goal was to have the single most import feature at the forefront, good transient response ("dynamic contrast"). A transient is a sound of short duration, and good transient response can only be achieved if the speaker can deliver its output quickly and cleanly without smearing the original sound, and be completely soundless immediately after. Transients contain the essentials of sound reproduction they provide the sharp pop from a snare drum, the cutting edge of digital sound, the dynamics of the human voice. Larger 2-way cabinet loudspeaker systems offer relatively slow transient response, and the small high-frequency horn tends to beam a narrow, blaring sound at the listener—end result, muddy sound. By replacing larger speakers with four 6 or 8" drivers we increased the driver surface area while creating more punch and a tight, more focused low-end.
The Atlas Sound AA50PHD is a four input channel mixer amplifier designed for distributed business paging and background music (BGM) systems, small to medium speech privacy systems, and in applications where music on hold (MOH) plus paging is required. With one microphone/line input and three stereo line inputs, the AA50PHD will accommodate a variety of input sources including paging microphones, media players, and digital music receivers. The AA50PHD includes a patent pending automatic system test, the Push Here Diagnostic (PHD).
The WPD-RISRL is a decor style wall plate that is designed for use with the AA50PHD, AA100PHD, AA200PHD, or AA400PHD mixer amplifiers to use the remote input selection (RIS) feature. The WPD-RISRL features an audio source slide selector as well as a source volume control. The unit includes an LED indicator to indicate which source is selected and if it is active. The unit fits in a single gang electrical outlet and uses an 8-conductor interface connection that includes a single 4 position removable Phoenix connector and dual 2 position Phoenix style connectors. When connected to the RIS output on an appropriate AAPHD amplifier, the WPD-RISRL allows for remote selection and volume adjustment of inputs 2, 3, and 4 allowing the rack to remain locked and secured.
