Bodypack Transmitter + WL185 Cardioid Lavalier Mic

The GLXD14+ is an excellent wireless audio system that includes a bodypack transmitter and a Shure WL185 cardioid lavalier microphone. This lav mic is optimized for speech, making it perfect for a wide range of applications, including interviews, presentations, broadcast, and film/video production. The microphone's cardioid pickup pattern is designed to focus audio capture on the subject while reducing feedback issues when sound reinforcement equipment is used, and the included windscreen further minimizes surrounding sound. The mic plugs into the TA4F connector on the rugged, metal GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter, which has an ergonomic design and a comfortable fit, along with a convenient on/off switch that can be easily operated. The GLXD14+ system is designed to operate in both the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz frequency ranges, automatically scanning both to select the one that offers the higher number of clean channels. With digital diversity, two antennas and two independent receiver modules work together to reduce RF signal dropouts, and the system is constantly monitoring two extra "backup frequencies" to switch to automatically if interference is detected. The included SB904 rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 12 hours of operation, and a red and green LED indicator displays sync and battery statuses at a glance. Half-Rack Receiver

The GLXD14R+/85 wireless system comes with a GLXD4R+ metal half-rack receiver that features a front-panel charging port for the SB904 battery, as well as an easy-to-read display that provides relevant information. The audio transmission of this system is designed to be flat, with a frequency response range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and 120 dB of dynamic range. This ensures that your microphone's sound remains unaffected by the wireless components. The transmitter's input gain can be adjusted wirelessly from the receiver's front panel, making it easy to optimize the audio signal. The rear panel of the system is equipped with a balanced XLR output that can be switched between mic and line levels, as well as a balanced 1/4" Inst/Aux output.

GLX-D+ Dual-Band Digital Wireless systems operate in both the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz frequency ranges, automatically scanning and selecting the range that provides the highest number of clean channels. This is an improvement over the previous GLX-D, which only operated in the 2.4 GHz range with a bandwidth of 83.5 MHz. By expanding to the 5.8 GHz range, the GLX-D+ offers an additional 125 MHz worth of potential open frequencies, resulting in fewer dropouts and enhanced reliability. The system also features true digital diversity, with two antennas and two independent receiver modules working together to reduce RF signal dropouts. Moreover, the GLX-D+ constantly monitors two extra "backup frequencies" to automatically switch to a backup if it detects interference. Operating in the 5.8 GHz range offers the advantage of a cleaner spectrum with fewer devices competing for the same space. In contrast, the 2.4 GHz range is crowded with Wi-Fi routers and repeaters, Bluetooth devices, security cameras, baby monitors, garage door openers, and more.

Intelligent Battery Rechargeability

The GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter runs on an intelligent SB904 rechargeable lithium-ion battery (included). The battery provides up to 12 hours of continuous use on a full charge. The transmitter automatically powers off after approximately 1 hour to conserve battery life if the signal from a linked receiver is not detected. The SB904 battery can be recharged in the GLXDR4+ receiver's charging bay (located on the front panel). The charging bay can also be used to recharge a spare battery while the transmitter is in use. Alternately, the SB904 can be recharged while in the bodypack transmitter with a USB charging cable. Just a 15-minute quick charge provides 1.5 hours of use. The SB904's remaining battery life is displayed in hours and minutes from the receiver's front panel.
