The versatile Yamaha PX Series Amplifiers combines intelligent processing with high output power to meet the requirements of a vast range of sound reinforcement environments. The output power for the PX5 Amplifier is 500W x 2 at 8Ω / 800W x 2 at 4Ω.

Description

The versatile Yamaha PX5 combines intelligent processing with high output power to meet the requirements of a vast range of sound reinforcement environments.

Since the 1976 release of the P2200, Yamaha has strived to achieve the highest possible levels of sound quality, power output, and reliability in sound reinforcement, studio, and installed applications. The new PX series power amplifiers continue this tradition of excellence, utilizing Yamaha’s renowned digital signal processing technology and unparalleled professional audio expertise to achieve a light, durable design, capable of delivering maximum output power to the speakers while simultaneously protecting them with optimized processing. Driven by a newly-developed Class-D amplifier the four new models that make up the PX series are suitable for a broad range of sound reinforcement and installation environments.

Ideal for a wide range of live and installed applications, the PX Series comprises four models, each providing exceptional performance and advanced processing, with power outputs ranging from 300W (PX3) to 1000W (PX10) into eight ohms. PX amplifiers are driven by a newly developed Class-D amplifier engine that concentrates all the necessary functions into a single custom LSI chip. Yamaha’s new and unique PLL technology controls transfer characteristics in real time, achieving exceptional sound quality and power.

High quality processing is at the heart of the new range, with flexible onboard parametric EQ, crossover, filters, delay and limiter functions as standard. All models feature Yamaha’s intelligent D-CONTOUR multi-band dynamic processing, allowing users to achieve consistent clarity and high-quality sound at any output level.

Each model features an LCD display for quick and easy system setup, with eight programmable presets for instant recall and reduced setup time that can be saved to a USB thumb drive and shared with other PX amplifiers. Designed to be user-friendly for any experience level, the PX Series also offers Basic and Advanced modes, meaning that even inexperienced users can easily configure a system that meets their needs, yet also allowing experienced users to have precise control over every aspect of their sound.

PX amplifiers are the perfect companions to Yamaha’s popular speaker ranges, such as the CBR, Club, Installation and VXS/VXC series, with a Config Wizard allowing users to save time by assigning optimised speaker settings to match the system configuration. It features presets specifically tuned to each model in Yamaha’s extensive line-up of passive speakers and an advanced mode that allows for more detailed configuration of parameters such as input routing, input sensitivity, amp gain, and speaker impedance.

Housed in a rugged 2U rack chassis with integrated carrying handles, PX amplifiers feature XLR and TRS inputs plus binding post, SpeakON and phone outputs, offering the flexibility needed for a wide variety of environments and the durability to stand up to extended road use.
