The Qu-6 is a compact 38-in/24-out 96 kHz digital mixer designed for live music, bands, AV and installed sound, studio, and broadcast applications. Combining Allen & Heath's XCVI FPGA processing core with updated microphone preamps and high-performance 96 kHz AD/DA converters, the mixer delivers high-quality audio processing with less than 0.7 ms system latency. It provides 38 inputs to mix, consisting of 32 mono/linkable channels and three stereo channels, along with 12 mixes, four mono/linkable matrix mixes, and a stereo Main LR output.
Designed for intuitive operation and hands-on control, the Qu-6 features 25 100 mm motorised faders, four fully customisable channel strip layers, eight assignable SoftKeys, and a 7" capacitive touchscreen with a redesigned user interface. Each channel features a dedicated display for channel name, channel type, or socket number, along with a configurable chromatic channel meter for at-a-glance level information. Its flexible routing options, familiar controls, and redesigned interface provide convenient operation for both experienced engineers and users transitioning from analogue mixing consoles.
It provides 24 XLR/jack combi microphone and line input sockets, two stereo line input connections using TRS sockets, and a dedicated XLR talkback input. Output connections include 16 XLR sockets, two TRS sockets, an AES3 stereo digital output, and a stereo headphone output. The 128 x 128 Intelligent SLink port supports connection to Allen & Heath Everything I/O expanders and compatible digital systems, while a separate RJ45 network connection supports remote control and network communication. An optional single or dual footswitch can also be configured for additional control.
For recording and playback, the Qu-6 includes a USB-A connection for stereo audio recording, playback, and data transfer, a 32 x 32 USB-C audio interface for multichannel recording and playback, and an SD card slot for multichannel audio recording or playback. SD recording supports 16 channels at 96 kHz or 32 channels at 48 kHz. The mixer also features six multi-FX engines with dedicated stereo return channels, DEEP Processing readiness, a 32-channel automatic mic mixer, feedback assistant, and gain assistant. Remote control is available through free Allen & Heath apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
