AtlasIED has been a leader in the manufacture of IP loudspeakers for over 10 years. This latest version delivers improved functionality as well as compatibility with 3rd party software platforms including SingleWire's InformaCast and Syn-App's SA-Announce. The I8S+ will natively register as an endpoint when using InformaCast or SA-Announce notification applications. The I8S+ can be deployed in new or existing multicast enabled LANs and it is also compatible with SIP (session initiation protocol) VoIP systems making it a versatile and integral part of any VoIP system.

Model I8S+ IP speaker from AtlasIED consists of a factory assembled loudspeaker/baffle with PCB amp/control board securely mounted to the rear of the baffle via concealed weld studs. The amplifier/control board is capable of producing up to 15-watts RMS into the 8 ohms loudspeaker provided by IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) and up to 9-watts RMS when using standard 802.3af compliant PoE switches. Local 24VDC PSUs may also be used instead of PoE switches.

The attached PCB provides additional functionality beyond standard audio output. The I8S+ includes an auxiliary speaker output enabling the connection of a second non-IP speaker allowing for greater sound coverage without sacrificing network control. An emergency alert trigger allows for integration with secondary systems that allow the user to send an emergency message to a main office or security station. A relay output can be used to trigger a wide variety of events based on the facility's needs. Additionally, an auxiliary audio input allows for connection of a local audio source further expanding the functionality of the device within the overall system.

The industry standard C10A loudspeaker used in the I8S+ is a dual cone 8" (205mm) loudspeaker with a 10oz (260g) ceramic magnet. It includes a curvilinear paper cone for lower harmonic distortion. The loudspeaker is also equipped with a full 1" (25mm) diameter copper voice coil with aluminum former for better heat dissipation. The 18-gauge construction of the metal baffle provides security and durability in commercial applications. The baffle is finished in neutral white electrostatic powder coat and is packaged with all necessary mounting screws.
