Loudspeaker systems operated in constant voltage technology, also known as high-impedance or 70/100 V systems, are networked loudspeakers that are connected to an audio output stage with a high-impedance output by means of transformers. There are several advantages to doing this, including:

• High voltage (70V or 100V) enables long, low-loss cable runs between the power amplifier and loudspeakers, while the low current allows for smaller cable diameters
• A large number of loudspeakers can be connected in parallel and are only limited by the available output stage power
