The Yamaha DM7 digital mixer is a powerful and versatile tool for professional audio environments, offering advanced capabilities tailored for live music, broadcast, corporate events, and hybrid applications. With 32 inputs and 16 outputs, the DM7 can process up to 120 input channels, providing expansive flexibility in a compact design.

One of its standout features is Split Mode, which enables the console to function as two independent mixers. This is especially useful for applications where you need to mix for front-of-house and monitor systems or handle broadcast and streaming simultaneously. The DM7 integrates Dan Dugan auto-mixing for up to 64 channels, which automatically manages microphone levels, ensuring clarity without consuming EQ Rack resources. It also includes Yamaha’s renowned Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) plugins, such as the Portico 5033 equalizer and 5043 compressor/limiter, developed in collaboration with Rupert Neve Designs, along with a dynamic noise suppressor and dynamic EQ for precise control.

The DM7 features a user-friendly interface with two 12.1-inch touchscreens and physical controls, such as screen encoders and Yamaha’s familiar “touch and turn” knobs. A dedicated utility screen keeps essential information like scene lists and meters easily accessible, improving workflow. The Assist function helps streamline setup by suggesting head amp adjustments, fader balancing, and more, reducing preparation time for engineers.

For connectivity, the DM7 offers robust Dante networking with up to 144 channels at 96kHz. This allows seamless integration with a wide range of Dante-enabled devices and Yamaha’s R Series I/O racks, making it adaptable to both small and large-scale audio systems. Additionally, the DM7 includes a rear-panel USB-C port with 18 input/output channels for recording, playback, and conferencing. It also supports control via MIDI devices and DAWs, enhancing its versatility.

The DM7 is expandable with the optional DM7 Control unit, which adds more physical controls and is bundled with software packages for theater and broadcast applications. This expansion unit includes features like surround sound support, Mix Minus, and 5.1 loudness metering, making it ideal for demanding productions.
