Offering enhanced power handling, dynamics and peak SPLs, the Definition DC8i is an all round music and movie installation loudspeaker with class-defining performance. The DC8i is designed to be hidden within a custom designed installation environment, mounted on wall either behind the screen or acoustically transparent décor panels. The DC8i is designed around the 200 mm (8.00”) Definition Install Dual Concentric driver. This high performance dual is capable of handling running program power up to 260Watts with 520 Watt peaks. Installed in the heavyweight yet relatively shallow DC8i cabinet (just 215mm deep), this loudspeaker offers an outstanding 92dB/watt sensitivity and linear frequency response from 62Hz up to 45kHz thanks to Tannoy’s Wideband tweeter technology. The DC8i is capable of 119dB peak SPLs with incredibly low distortion and coloration.
The DC8i is finished in a robust textured black paint for durability and is reflex loaded by four forward facing port tubes. These have been tuned to give the DC8i deep and controlled bass when mounted snugly against a wall. To easily facilitate mounting the speaker is fitted with four keyhole fixings and a dedicated wallpate for landscape or portrait mounting.
