The TEC-X 2000 is part of Biamp's Apprimo family of AV control pads, distinguished by a modern design aesthetic and a simple, intuitive interface for presentation spaces and conference rooms. Its 3.8" high-contrast capacitive touch LCD provides convenient control capabilities at the price of a keypad controller, supporting up to 12 programmable on-screen buttons. The TEC-X 2000 is PoE-powered (IEEE 802.3at Class 3, 15W), wall-mountable, and daisy-chainable, helping reduce cabling requirements and installation time.
The TEC-X 2000 supports Tesira Text Protocol (TTP) commands and can be programmed and customized within Tesira software as room requirements change. Programmable touchscreen functions can include audio source selection, level adjustment, mute control, preset recall, room combining, and commands to third-party devices through a properly configured Tesira system. Buttons support configurable press, hold, release, and latching actions, providing flexible control for a variety of AV applications.
The high-contrast touchscreen supports customizable button layouts, multiple display pages, programmable text, icons, colors, and status messages. Up to 32 pages are supported with Tesira firmware version 4.6.0 or later. An assignable RGB LED light bar provides visual feedback for mute and system status, while an ambient light sensor automatically adjusts display brightness. Configurable dimming and sleep timeouts help manage display operation, and optional PIN-protected access can be configured through Tesira software.
The TEC-X 2000 connects to the control network of a compatible Tesira Server-Class device, such as a TesiraFORTÉ, through an Ethernet connection with PoE power. Designed for wall mounting to a standard 4" x 2" electrical junction box, the control pad includes installation hardware for straightforward setup. Separate Ethernet In and Out connections allow up to four TEC-X 1000 or TEC-X 2000 devices to be daisy-chained in any combination, with a maximum cable distance of 100 meters between devices and 400 meters overall.
An optional TEC-X-TM tabletop mount is available separately for installations requiring desktop placement. When using the tabletop mount, the control pad must be the last device in the daisy chain. The TEC-X 2000 requires a compatible Tesira system, appropriate PoE network power, and Cat5e or better Ethernet cabling. Configuration and programming are performed through Tesira software. Biamp added support for TEC-X 2000 Rev B hardware in Tesira Software version 5.7.0, which should be considered when integrating newer hardware revisions.
The Biamp Apprimo TEC-X 2000 Black is listed by Biamp as compliant with the United States Trade Agreements Act (TAA), with the United States identified as its country of origin. The control pad is CE marked, UL listed, RoHS compliant, and covered by Biam p's five-year warranty.
