On this week’s episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk, Ron Grant with Electro-Voice sits down with Nathan to discuss the new Electro-Voice EVC cabinet speakers. These speakers are great for medium-sized churches, performance venues, and more. There are also weatherized versions for outdoor applications. They come in 8”, 12” and 15” with an available 18” subwoofer.
Everybody. Nathan from Pro Acoustics. We are here again from our Salado, Texas location. I'm with Ron Grant of Bosch Communications, who's giving us his time again to come by and take a look at some new products. What do we have today, Ron?
Looking at the EVC, EV's, shall we say, entry-level wood cabinet speakers for a small/medium-sized church, performance venue. You can even get these in a weatherized version so it could do some outdoor. Cool. Just a higher-end, higher fidelity sound. These are the eights. Cool. Which comes in a 90 by 60 and 100 by 100 coverage pattern. We make a 12 and a 15, which are 60 by 40 or 90 by 55. And then it's kinda hard to see, but down here we got an 18-inch sub that compliments the system. Awesome. Awesome. And these all come with fly points, U brackets? Yes. Yes, there's fly points on the speakers. There's a U bracket and unfortunately, I don't have it here, but a really cool strong arm-mount so that you can get it off the wall and articulate it down if you need be. Whereas with a lot of times with the U bracket, you don't have that flexibility.
Awesome. Awesome. All right. And, these are all out now? Yes, these are shipping now. Got them in white, got them in black. They've been in the line for a little over a year, almost two years now. Awesome. Awesome. And also 70-volt transformers available? Yes, they are. That's one of the places where this speaker really shines is we have a patent within this series called the automatic saturation compensation RASC circuit. So, it is kinda, you have to hear it to believe it, but, you can get a low end out of your 70-volt system. So, I could get great low end out of these eights and I can even put a 70-volt transformer on my 18-inch sub. Wow. I'm limited, limited by the size of the transformer, but can still get that kind of pro audio quality, foreground music quality and put it into a background system. Cool. Cool.
