In this episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk, Nathan brings in Julian from Yamaha Commercial Audio to introduce their new VXC Series in-ceiling speakers.

Nathan: Hey everybody. Nathan from Pro Acoustics here at our Salado, Texas warehouse with Julian from Yamaha Commercial Audio. Thanks for coming.

Julian: Hey, thanks for having me, man.

Nathan: So what do we got here today?

Julian: Well, what I have here are our two newest ceiling speakers and our VXC line of ceiling speakers. This is the new VXC2F. It's a very low profile, shallow ceiling speaker. Like all of our ceiling speakers, features a handy carrying handle. This makes it a lot safer and easier to get one of these up a ladder or even a bunch of them clipped on the rail of a lift. It also, like our other speakers, features a transformer on every one so you can run it in 70-volt or in 8-ohm operation. There's also an available pendant kit if you want to suspend these from a ceiling. That's really popular now in restaurants or hotels and a lot of other applications.

Julian: Over here we've got our VXC8S, that's a ceiling subwoofer. It's actually got a big driver in there and you can see how deep the can is. So it gives you a lot of low-frequency response on it. It can be Daisy chained with our other ceiling speakers. So for a smaller speaker like this, help you really flesh out a system for background music.

Nathan: Gotcha, gotcha. So we've got hanging kits available. We also have tile bridges available for both these models for going into acoustic tile ceilings.

Julian: They do. This speaker is available without or with it. We find that some customers are putting these smaller speakers into drywall ceilings in restaurants and things. So we do make it available without the tile kit for those who need that. But for most applications, you're going to get our hidden O-ring and our tile bridge in a kit with this one.

Julian: And then of course for that 8" you definitely want the tile bridge. That's a pretty heavy speaker to get that low-frequency response, so that's going to help safely mount it in the ceiling.

Nathan: Okay. Awesome. Awesome. You said both of these are shipping now?

Julian: They are shipping now.
