Pro Acoustics Tech Talk Episode 2: Comparison of the Pure Resonance Audio MA Series Bluetooth Mixer Amplifiers

We are back with our second episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk. In this episode, our audio engineers, Nathan and Coltin, are talking about the Pure Resonance Audio MA Series of Bluetooth Mixer Amplifiers. These mixer amplifiers are flexible and versatile and come in 30-watt, 60-watt, and 120-watt versions.

Hey guys, I'm Nathan.

I'm Coltin and we are back again with another episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk - our little series here where we tell you about some of our favorite products and hopefully help instill a little bit of audio knowledge in your life.

Absolutely. Coltin, what do we have today?

All right man. We have a one-of-a-kind in the marketplace. We have a Pure Resonance Audio MA30, MA60, and MA120BT. These amps are jam-packed with features and countless possibilities to implement them in so many different applications. And we're here to kind of go over those in a brief video for you to make your purchase you a little bit easier and get you a little bit more knowledge on it. So, tell me a little bit of the background story, what went into this and you know, what's the thing about.

Yeah, sure. So once again, this is a product from Pure Resonance Audio that is the manufacturing brand of Pro Acoustics. We manufacture these in house. I was a part of the development team on these. We've got three different size chassis. We've got a 30-watt model, a 60-watt model, and 120-watt model. These have a high impedance, 70-volt or 100-volt outputs as well as low impedance outputs. Outputs for a 16-ohm, 8-ohm, and 4-ohm. These have 30 watts, 60 watts or 120 watts at high impedance or low impedance. So, you've got 30 watts at eight ohms, uh, 60 watts at eight ohms, and 120 watts at eight ohms. These also have seven inputs that you see here. All including one a media player. Media Player has built-in Bluetooth streaming and also has an SD card or USB thumb drive input.

So, you could put your playlist on a thumb drive and pop it into the front. And also, a built-in FM tuner. You don't see a lot of that these days, but, it can be a real saver. No need to go pick up another unit, which they still sometimes want a pound of flesh for an FM tuner meant to hook up to your system. So, all of that packed inside this box.

The rest of your inputs, you've got an XLR mic input that is a priority input. Mic one does take priority over your other inputs, which can be great for commercial applications, for a retail, hospitality paging, that kind of thing. From there, you've got two more additional inputs. Those are mic or line selectable from the dip switches on the back. Should you see all these dip switches on the back and become a little paranoid - take a look at the manual, give us a call, jump on chat. We can walk you through it if you have any questions on those.

Yeah. Then we also have some additional inputs. An input for telephone paging - 600-ohm feed from a phone system, also a music-on-hold output - 600-ohm output. That's good for factories, warehouses. Exactly, exactly. You can use your phone system, right? Like just pick up the phone? With some connections. Yeah. So you can connect a phone system to these. If everything I just said about the phone system makes your eyes roll back, don't worry about it. Right, right. Let us take care of the details for you. But from there you've also got a battery backup. If you are in an emergency scenario, you have to have battery backup. This has that.

Lots of features, lots of things come in very small packages, all in one box. Has a remote, right? Uh, yeah, inside the box you're going to have an IR remote. That IR remote controls the media player that turns up and down the volume on the media player. All other inputs have to be controlled via their individual volume dials. You also have master volume, bass and treble for adjusting your levels as well as overload lights, clip lights, that kind of thing.

I think that's most everything here. One thing to note in the MA series, you do not have a 19-inch rack kit. We do not have a rack kit available for these, the units are designed to sit on a shelf, sit on a table, sit on the desk, anything like that. If you’ve got to have rack kits, if you've got to have something going into a 19-inch rack space and it has to be secured in there, contact us. We have other models available, but in this series, we do not have the rack kits.

But other than that, great bang for the buck, and so unique. Yup. Great availability. So, if you have questions or applications where these might be relevant for you, if you want a pair of these with some of our two by two speaker arrays that we went over last week - where can they find us Coltin?

They can find us at proacousticsusa.com or you can contact us sales engineers directly at our email. That's going to be sales@proacoustics.com. We're going to drop all the rest of the info in the description, so don't worry about missing out on that.

And, I believe that's a wrap for us today. Thank you for joining us and we can't wait to see you next time. This is Coltin, and this is Nathan. Take care, you guys. Take care.
