On this week’s episode of Pro Acoustics Tech Talk, Nathan sits down with Dan Murphy from Atlas Sound to discuss the new Atlas WTSD series. The WTSD line is Atlas Sound’s new line of wall mount time-saving devices.

Hey everybody, Nathan with Pro Acoustics back from our studio here in beautiful Salado, Texas. Today I have Dan Murphy here with me from Atlas Sound. He's going to talk to us a little bit about their new wall plate WSTD line, and what we can do with it. So, take it away Dan.

Thank you, Nathan. I appreciate the opportunity here. So, we've come out with a new line of analog input modules. They’re called the WTSD. WTSD refers to wall and the TSD is our time-saving devices. So, this is the MIX41 we have here. It has an analog audio, 3.5-millimeter input on it. It has an XLR mic line input. And then it also has a Bluetooth input too. Yeah, this Bluetooth is really neat. We were kind of referring to it as industrial Bluetooth. It's got our extended distance on it and it will not reconnect again. So if somebody is using the product, leaves the room, somebody else uses it, they come back, he reconnects again, it doesn't happen. It doesn't cause any of those problems that we have. Very helpful. Yes. All of these devices, which I'll talk about a couple of other ones, they all live on a cat five bus.

Now. This is all analog. It's not ethernet. So, we run power and analog audio over this back to a little device called a BOB. This is a breakout box. This little box here gives us our cat five connection going out on the bus, which we can connect multiple devices together and it gives us power input and analog audio output here. The BOB comes with either the MIX31 or the MIX42. The MIX42 is the same kind of device except for it just has four analog audio controls, which we can supply audio to an analog audio to this from one of our wall plates or any other type of wall plate that you need on your system.

Now, they also come with their power supply so you don't have to work with power supplies directly and as an option to the BOB, we also have the power hub. The power hub is basically the same type of device, but it gives us some level control. It also gives us a limiter on here. So, if you protect the audio from overdrive in the amplifier. And then it also gives us a contact closure input to mute the system in the event of an emergency, like a fire control system getting integrated over. And then our analog output audios. The hub is an optional device and the other optional device we have is the outdoor-rated stainless-steel wall plate that can fit on any of these boxes. So if you have one of these things, go on the outside, maybe mounted at the baseball field or something like that would just put the cover on the front, keeps tamper-proof, keeps it from getting tampered with and obviously protects it from the weather.

Lock it up, leave it alone, come back when it's time for the big game. Plug your mic in, turn it on. Sync your Bluetooth device, and start streaming. Absolutely. Awesome. And these are shipping now?

Yes, they will be shipping in. Well actually yes they are shipping now. I apologize. Yes, as of recording. I don't know when the recording was done. Well, great. We're very excited about these. We're going to design a lot of cool stuff with it. Definitely reach out to us with questions. You can reach us on our 800 number, (888) 256-4112, and that's www.proacousticsusa.com. I'm Nathan. This is Dan. Thanks again, guys. We'll see you next time. Thank you.
