AKG PZM11 Boundary Layer Microphone
Usually arrives in 5-9 business days.
This Anchor Audio observation room sound system with an Anchor Audio AN-1000X+ speaker monitor and bracket, a Rolls MX401 4-channel stereo mixer and two AKG PZM10 microphones provides a simple solution to remotely listen, record and talk back (optional) from a central location. An omnidirectional boundary microphone can be placed in the ceiling, or on a large surface such as a table, floor, or wall, allowing a wide, smooth and very intelligible audio quality. The microphone feed can connect to a single or central observation room. As the observer watches and listens to the case room, the audio can be routed to a recording device such as a computer or digital recorder. The small microphone size and low profile provides an excellent option for listening and recording observation rooms and discrete applications.
This system allows faculty, trainers, administrators, etc., to observe while working cases without being present in the room. The observer can speak when necessary (through an optional talk back microphone) and also discretely record comments and observations along with the room's ambient audio. The system can record all audio allowing permanent archiving for future needs by adding an optional recording device.
The Anchor Audio AN-1000X+ Speaker Monitor is an extremely versatile powered speaker. This system is easy to use, lightweight, and provides a powerful 107 dB of sound to fill the room with your voice. It is designed to project clear, intelligible speech for a larger audience of up to 250+, and is also great for music. It is not battery powered and runs off of AC power only when connected to a power source. The AN-1000X+ can be mounted on a stand, to the wall/ceiling, or placed on a shelf. Just switch it on, adjust your volume, treble, and bass, and you are ready to go. It's ideal for presentations and can be added to an A/V rack setup and used with a video projector, CD/DVD player, iPod, MP3, or PC. Use it as a studio monitor, install it in a trade show booth, or even place it in the Captain's quarters on a US Navy warship to monitor activities in the intelligence room.
The MX401 mixes 4 microphones or line level XLR's into two balanced stereo outputs. The four XLR inputs each have individually switchable phantom power, MIC or LINE level switch, level control, and a pan control. Two independent balanced XLR outputs both with selectable MIC or LINE level. A 1/8-inch stereo Aux/Headphone output has been provided along with a clip indicator, power indicator, and power switch. The unit is also powered by two 9-Volt alkaline batteries or the included 15VDC power supply.
The AKG PZM10 is part of the Pressure Zone Microphone line and is designed for security, surveillance, and conference-table use. Since it does not look like a microphone, it is inconspicuous. Each mic's tubular housing mounts in a 25/32-inch diameter hole in a ceiling panel, wall, or table. The PZM-10 has a mic level output and a 3-pin XLR-type connector for easy plug-in installation. The mic requires 12 to 48V phantom power. It requires 12 to 24VDC. Like other Pressure Zone Microphones, the PZM-10 uses a miniature mic capsule mounted very near a sound-reflecting plate or boundary, in the Pressure Zone. In this zone, direct sound from the sound source combines in phase at all frequencies with reflected sound off the boundary. The benefits are many: 6 dB more sensitivity, 6 dB less noise, a wide smooth frequency response free of phase interference, excellent clarity and “reach,” and consistent pickup anywhere around the mic. Frequencies below the voice range are rolled off to reduce pickup of air conditioning rumble. The high-frequency response is boosted slightly to help articulation. Because of their tailored response and PZM construction, the PZM-10 will pick up conversations or other desired sounds with extra clarity and definition. The output is balanced, low impedance, which allows long cable runs without hum pickup or high-frequency loss. The mic's humbucking transformer and steel case prevent hum pickup, even near fluorescent lights.
