The SoundTube CM42-EZs-II is a 4-inch in-ceiling speaker designed for applications with limited plenum space. It features a proprietary shallow backcan with an installed depth of only 3.5 inches, making it ideal for tight installations. The speaker includes a 4-inch treated fiber woofer with a cloth surround and a 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter, providing balanced sound and superior voice intelligibility. With an average coverage angle of 100° (at 2-10 kHz, independently verified), the CM42-EZs-II delivers consistent audio performance across a wide area. Its easy-access six-position tap switch supports 25/70.7/100-volt systems and a 16-ohm transformer bypass, simplifying ordering, stocking, and installation.

This model offers high efficiency with a sensitivity of 87.5 dB and supports cost-effective setups using 16-ohm impedance, allowing multiple speakers (e.g., two, four, or six) to be powered by a standard amplifier without transformers. Built with a durable painted steel grille, the CM42-EZs-II also includes a ceramic input terminal that accepts up to 10-gauge plenum-rated signal wire and is equipped with a thermal fuse for added safety. Certified for UL 1480 (UEAY) and 2043, CE (EMC Directive 89/366/EEC, EN55020, EN55013), and compliant with EU voice alarm regulations (EN60849 and BS5839-8), this speaker is both reliable and regulation-ready for commercial installations. Clamping allowance ranges from 0 to 1.5 inches (38.1 mm).
