The Lowell SMG-2 sound masking generator produces an analog pink noise signal that is fed to sound masking amplifiers (ordered separately) in order to produce random low-level background noise to increase ambient noise and aid conversational privacy.

Description

Lowell SMG-2 Sound Masking Generator

The SMG-2 sound masking generator produces an analog pink noise signal that is fed to sound masking amplifiers (ordered separately) in order to produce random low-level background noise to increase ambient noise and aid conversational privacy. The PRE-EQ OUTPUT has a flat spectrum that can be used as an input to equalizers that feed power amplifiers for masking systems that require precise equalization. The POST-EQ OUTPUT is adjusted by bass, mid and treble controls, and can be used for less demanding applications that utilize basic spectrum shaping.

  • Outputs: Pre-EQ hi-Z line level (~500mV) with pink noise for equal energy per octave; Post-EQ hi-Z line level (~500mV); Adjustable post-EQ
  • Connections: RCA phono jacks
  • Controls: Bass, mid, treble, and volume allow for basic noise spectrum shaping without an external equalizer
  • Chassis: 12.2 in. x 1.5 in. x 6 in. steel chassis with black powder epoxy finish (19 in. 1.75 in. x 6 in. with brackets set for rackmount use)
  • Power Supply: UL Listed power supply (UL60950). 100-240VAC input, 12VDC @ 1A output
  • Mounting Aids: Universal mounting brackets for rack, shelf, wall, or under counter use
